Sawadeekrup from Chaing Rai. My name is Getisak Wuimae and I am 17 years old. My brother and I came to live at House of Joy nine years ago. Our parents both died of AIDS and we were living with our grandparents. We will spend our summer breaks with her and help her in the fields. I am in my final year of vocational high school. The school term started the first of June.
I had an internship all summer long in an electronic shop. It was a great experience and I learned a lot from the other people in the shop. I am glad that I decided to study electronics because I really love electronics. I finished last term with a 3.84 GPA and I was second in my class. I would like to study on and get my associate degree in electronics. That would give me a greater chance to get a job. This year I am the lead guitar for the worship team. I have been on the base guitar for many years and the lead guitarist went on to university. I am enjoying the position and really want to grow in my ability to lead worship. I am shy by nature and worship is a great way to express myself. Pray that I will not lead out of my own ability but rely on the Holy Spirit more and more. So I have been at House of Joy for nine years now. I cannot imagine who I would be today if I had stayed in my village. I know that I would not be half the person I am today. I have been given so many wonderful opportunities spiritually, musically and in leadership. I thank God that He brought me here and I thank you for making it possible for me.
